Packages Development:
SKILL’s training packages are revised regularly and new packages
developed based on current technology so that training do not become
market obsolete. New developed packages are put to test and further
fine tuned through DACUM process. Tasks identified by the
Occupational Skills Standards (OSS) and additional skills required
for technicians to sustain themselves in the market are two factors
considered during training package development. Therefore, the
number of training hours is more than the stipulated hours of OSS
Level-1. Panels of subject matter specialist lend their expertise in
the development of the package. SKILL has been extending package
development services to its clients. SKILL has 35 different
technical and vocational training packages/manuals in its menu ready
to serve.
Labour
Market Assessment:
SKILL believes that a training programme should be initiated only
after a thorough labour market assessment. A lot of emphasis is
given to know about the demand and supply side of the labour market
based on the local and regional economy. The major outcomes includes
identification of different employable trades for various groups of
people such as unemployed youth, women, occupational caste, seasonal
migrant workers and overseas workers for different market place.
Identified trades will be further validate through Rapid Market
Appraisal (RMA) process which enable to know number of people who
can be trained, their assured employment level, future employment
prospect and market trends of the trade. SKILL conducts RMA for
every trade before conducting training so as to know
employability. SKILL has been extending market assessment services
to its clients. As of now, SKILL has extended its services to RAP/DFID,
JREDP/HPL, ILO, Helvetas Nepal and its projects, GTZ projects and
VSBK/SDC.
Training of Trainers (ToT):
For training provider, its instructors are the main building blocks.
SKILL has developed standard of Training of Trainers (ToT) package
for SKILL instructors. SKILL also provides subject related ToT for
clients.
Training & Employment:
SKILL’s core expertise is providing demand led employment oriented
vocational skill training on mobile base. SKILL offers a range of
trainings in line with OSS Level 1 & 2 set by National Skill Testing
Board of the Government. SKILL trainings are of an average duration
of 45 days (exceeding 300 hours). A complimentary package on basic
business management is also provided at the end of SKILL training
for making simple business plan and costing & pricing of services.
SKILL guarantees at least 80% employment rate with pre-defined sum
of monthly income of trainees to its valued clientele organizations.
SKILL has been providing its training and employment services to
many bi-lateral projects, INGOs, UN agencies, and so on.
