Training

 SKILL regularly conducts vocational training courses based on local needs and demand in the following trades: ( As a part of Post training support, SKILL provides upgrading training in related trades to its graduates. This opportunity is given to those graduates who have utilized their skill professionally for at least six months. For example, a house wiring trainee is provided with electrical motor rewinding training and further with refrigeration repair and maintenance, Tailoring trainees with sewing machine repair and maintenance etc., Graduates from different parts of the country are made a part of this program with inclusion of not more than two people from the same event. The training is imparted on the condition that they go back to their district and transfer the skill to the fellow graduates of SKILL.)

 Electrical

  1. Eectrical House Wiring
Course Code: BEHW/92
Occupation:Building Electrician (OSS Level -1)

Objective : The main objective of this  training package  is to enable the participants to carry out house wiringjob competently and independently.  

Expected outcome: After successful participation in the training programme, participants will be able to;

  • Know the importance of electricity and prevention of electrical sock
  • Design /install various type of wiring.
  • Costing and pricing of required materials, time and labor.
  • Repair & maintenance of various types of electrical accessories & apparatus.
  • Read and draw electrical drawing.
  • Select tools, wires, electrical accessories & apparatus according to the requirement.
  • Appear in skill test exam

Duration : 60 days  

 Working hour  : 364 hours (7 hours a day)

 Intake :  20 participants  

 Course Structure : 25% Theory  

                                    50% Indoor practical

                                    25% Outdoor/field practical

2. Advance House Wiring

Course Code: AHW/95

Name of Occupation  : Building Electrician (OSS Level - 2)

 Objective  : The main objective of this training package is to enable participants to carry out the advance electrical house wiring work competently and independently.

Expected outcome: After successful participation in the training programme, participants will be able to;

 

  • Know the safety measure of electrical works in high voltage.
  • Know and use of electrical instruments.
  • Design /install various types of advance wiring including industrial wiring
  • Repair & maintenance of various types of electrical accessories and apparatus.
  • Read and draw three-phase circuit diagrams.
  • Costing and pricing of three phases house wiring.                                                                     

 Duration :  30 training days

                                                      Working hour : 182 hours (7 hours a day)

Intake             : 15 participants

Course Structure : 25% Theory

                                50% Indoor practical

                                 25% Outdoor/field practical

 

3. Electrical Motor Rewinding

Course Code: EMR/95

   Name of Occupation : Electrical Motor Rewinder (OSS Level-1)

 

   Objective : The main objective of this course is to                    enable participants to repair and maintenance of faulty single and three phase electrical motors.

 

Expected outcome : After successful participation in the training programme, participants will be able to;

  • Know the basic principal of motor.
  • Know the safety measures of motor rewinding.
  • Rewind single and three-phase motor.
  • Repair and maintain electrical motors.
  • Make various types of motor controlling system operate.
  • Costing and pricing of motor rewinding works.
  • Appear in skill test exam

 

Duration :                        45 training days

Working hour    :           273 hours (7 hours a day)

Intake                :           15 participants

Course Structure :         20% Theory, 80% Practical

Besides technical know-how, SKILL also gives information on how to survive as a small entrepreneur. This includes basic concepts on the nature of the market, risk analysis, book-keeping and approaching to potential loan providers along with their business scheme in order to initiate micro-enterprises at the local level. Improving and building on traditional skills is also given priority where ever applicable.
